An Exciting Night of Racing at Shasta Speedway

This weekend’s PCS race was an action-packed show. I truly admire our racers for adapting to a format change and putting on an awesome show for the Shasta Speedway Fans.

In the interest of giving our fans more opportunity to see us on track, we went “Old School” and back to a full format of qualifying, trophy dash, heat race, and main event.

Randy Houston and Eric Schmidt were our top qualifiers.  Both put down some awesome qualifying laps.  Randy Houston came out on top by only a couple hundredths of a second.

Racing was clean and fun to watch.  Houston clearly had a fast race car and was in the lead when a mechanical issue caused him to start to fade.  Schmidt tracked him down and overtook the lead in the closing laps.  John Dalerio was also very fast and was working the lead group when a broken upper control arm finished his night.  A hard charging Tom Elam dug hard all race and came out in the 2nd spot even though he fought a loose race car all night and had a right rear tire going flat at the end.  We ended the night on a green, white, checker finish with Bill Binns doing a great job of keeping his car clean and bringing it home in the 3rd spot.  McCormack and Miller battled hard in the closing laps bringing home 4th and 5th spots.  Jessica Brunelli raced her way back to the 6th position from an earlier flat tire.  Junior Roddy’s crew did a great job repairing an ignition problem and getting the 41 car back on the track and posting an 8th spot finish.  Bratolli, Borden, Glaze and Jones ended their nights early with mechanical issues.

A big Thank You to all the PCS racers and crews for a spectacular race.
